Who we are

Hello! My name is Nicole Nucero and I am the face behind Education Empowerment. I was born and raised in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and attended college at Elizabethtown College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education and special education. In 2014, my husband and I relocated to South Carolina. I served as a special education resource teacher in the classroom setting for 10 years. During this tenure, I became incredibly passionate about advocating for students with IEPs and ensuring they receive all potential services to facilitate success.

Two years ago, I left the classroom to focus on my three daughters. After leaving the classroom setting, I’ve come to realize how few support systems are available for special education students and their families outside of school. Therefore, Education Empowerment was born! Our main focus is helping families navigate the IEP process and provide tutoring for students to help them make progress towards their IEP goals. Tutoring services are also available for general education students without an IEP, in both reading, writing, and math. As a certified special education teacher I can provide your child with the best individualized instruction outside of the classroom. I look forward to working with you and helping your child become the student that you know they can be!

Testimonials

"We were so fortunate to have Ms. Nicole work with our oldest child from 1st through 3rd grade with his behavioral issues.  She went out of her way to connect with him and above and beyond to bond with him.  Even during COVID when they were virtual, his meetings with her were a bright spot in his day!  Now we are so excited to have her work with our youngest at Education Empowerment.  She did an extremely thorough review of his evaluation and IEP before our meeting and then in just a few hours, she pointed out so many discrepancies between the school’s evaluation and the IEP.  She made several recommendations on how it could be improved in order to get the services he needs.  We also discussed strategies to help with his attention issues and staying on task.  We are so glad to have Ms. Nicole on our team!"
